Walk-and-Talk Sessions
Some things will not surface in a chair. Walk-and-talk sessions move the work outside, side by side, at a walking pace. The body loosens, the eyes have somewhere to rest, and what has been stuck in the mind starts to move with the feet.
Why walking works
Movement settles the nervous system in a way sitting rarely does. Walking side by side removes the intensity of eye contact, which is often exactly what lets the harder things get said. And being outdoors returns the work to the body, where so much of what we carry actually lives. This is the same depth of work James does in the office. It just breathes differently.
